This morning, while sitting in a weekly staff meeting going over cover sheets for TPS reports, I came to the realization that I bought a domain that I don't update very much. I'm going to change that. So, my simple goal is to post something new every day, even if it's just a link, to keep everyone updated of just who is posting my work. Here's what's happened so far this week...
This week started with my report on the Lady Deacs' 73-44 loss to undefeated and fourth-ranked Duke at home on Sunday. You can find the report at Blogger So Dear , as well as an image gallery with pictures from the game. I'm very lucky to have Dana Warren, a fantastic photographer who volunteers to shoot different events for/with me. If you get a second, visit his webpage where all the images are housed.
Probably the biggest piece of work this week (and maybe the best so far) was a column about culture building in the world of coaching. You can find the link at Blogger So Dear here. I guess the powers that be over at SB Nation liked it enough to place a link to it on their main college basketball section, so I'm very grateful for the exposure.
So as not to confuse readers any further about what is what, both podcasts that I do will be called "Mundy Night Lights", in the following format:
Mundy Night Lights: The Mundy Night Ramble
This will be a weekly/biweekly feature that features me giving 15-20 minutes of scripted, written commentary on Wake Forest and ACC- related matters.Mundy Night Lights: The _ Man Wedge
This will obviously be the loosely framed podcast with Heath, Paul, Jimmy or any combination of those guys.
The good news is that both podcasts will now be getting the exposure that I think they'll eventually deserve, as BSD and SB Nation are our target demographics, anyway.
Finally, I got a message on Wednesday from Marc Pruitt, who is a fantastic writer who, among other things, edits the Forsyth County High School Sports Xtra section for the Winston-Salem Journal. It seems like he lost a writer and was kind enough to think of me. Beginning today, I will be writing the student and coach features for Glenn, North Forsyth and Parkland high schools. This is my first "professional" writing gig, which means that I'm allegedly to be paid for my services.
It's a dream come true, in the most literal sense. Thanks, Marc.
Anyway, I think I've caught you up on everything. Oh yeah- my game report and image gallery from last night's women's basketball debacle at LJVM should be up soon on BSD.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, and thanks for reading!
-John
