Defending Notre Dame- Outkick the Coverage

Well, the good folks at Outkick the Coverage picked up another of my offerings, so the original has been deleted from this site.  If you'd like to read my take on the Manti Te'o debacle please visit them here.

Deacon Gameday

Wake Forest hosts N.C. State tonight in a "Gold Rush" game, where fans are encouraged to wear gold to support the Deacs.  My guess is that the dominant color inside will be Red.  A very raucous Red.  Check out my game preview on Blogger So Dear.

Sunday Game Story

Sundays in January and February mean ACC women's basketball for me, so I was responsible for a game report from today's Wake/Boston College clash for Blogger so Dear.  It was a wild game that went two overtimes before it was settled.  You can read the story here.

My game story from last night's Deacon loss to the Clemson Lady Tigers has just been posted to Blogger So Dear.  The image gallery has also been posted.

Have a great weekend!

The Week That Was...

This morning, while sitting in a weekly staff meeting going over cover sheets for TPS reports, I came to the realization that I bought a domain that I don't update very much.  I'm going to change that.  So, my simple goal is to post something new every day, even if it's just a link, to keep everyone updated of just who is posting my work.  Here's what's happened so far this week...

The 3-Man Wedge: Episode 1

Yes, you read that right...Episode ONE.  The premiere.

I realize we did this last week, but as soon as I heard it, I knew we didn't do it right.  I underestimated my boys.  So we're doing it again, and in doing so we're going to talk about:
  • Lance Armstrong- What is his legacy and how do we feel about this whole ordeal?
  • The Broncos- It was what it was, and what it was was bad.  Poor Peyton.
  • Ray Lewis- The end of an era.  How have our views on Ray Lewis changed over the years?
We also have made it our mission to bring dignity and decorum to our show in order to make the world a better place, so we have a Culture Challenge between dapper Paul and degenerate Heath.
We also talk about the ACC, Al Roker and sharting.  There may be a WKRP reference as well.

Click on the "Mundy Night Podcasts" tab and enjoy!

ps. It' a 3-man wedge THIS week.  Jimmy worked late.  Hell, SOMEONE had to pay the bills.

Outkick the Coverage

One of my favorite websites is Clay Travis' Outkick the Coverage, which is an SEC-centric website that is a combination of sports, humor and pop culture.  They also have a great feature called the Bull Pen, which allows shmucks like me an opportunity to submit stories for posting on the site.  They receive hundreds of entries and not everyone gets through.

Yesterday, though, I DID and I'm very grateful for the exposure and the chance to reach a new audience.

BSD: Thin Line Between Hope and Disaster

From Blogger So Dear:

66-59.

That's right, Wake Forest's roundball warriors beat the Xavier Musketeers 66-59 Wednesday night in the resumption of the Skip Prosser Classic at Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem.

I was otherwise committed that night, and was unable to watch the game on the Ocho.  However, I spent the  day on edge because I knew how important this game was for both teams.  Stop laughing.  I know that a 6-5 start to the season going into Wednesday night's non-conference finale means that every game is a "must-win" to most fans, but let's look at the potential implications that the game had on the season:

Enough Already (AKA "Run the Damn Ball")

Enough already.

I wasn't at work 20 minutes before someone started talking about Clemson's fantastic 25-24 victory over LSU on New Year's Eve. The stunning turn of events that took place in the Georgia Dome was perhaps best summed up by SB Nation Editorial Director Spencer Hall's Twitter account, late in the 4th quarter:
